Rock Co. Fair Ministry
“When summer missionary Abby Schleif showed an adult Acts 16:31 and had her read it out loud, I could sense a tone in her voice as if it was shocking to her that it was that simple and right there in the Bible. This woman bowed her head, prayed silently, and showed obvious signs of the Holy Spirit working in her heart. She said she had gone to church for years and read the Bible but never had seen about the need for a personal relationship. What an awesome thing to witness right before our eyes! Then an older couple who were Christians came by to thank us for our tent because their teenage grandson’s girlfriend, for whom they had been praying for a long time, accepted Christ at our tent the day before. They said the whole family was rejoicing including the angels of heaven.”
-Jonathan Alden, Fair Ministry Coordinator
“Three 12-year-old boys came in to hear the story. Throughout the whole thing, I could tell they were really listening. When I was talking about how Jesus died for them, they looked really sad. Then when we got to the clean page and I asked if they wanted to receive Christ, they all said “sure.” One boy even said “well, yea!” He said it like I had asked a dumb question – of course he wanted to accept Christ.”
-Abby Schleif, CEF Summer Missionary

The local fair is an ideal opportunity to minister to people in the community! Each year, CEF has a spot at the Rock Co. Fair in Janesville, WI and another local fair to share the message of salvation through the Wordless Book. The Wordless Book is a very effective tool using colors to represent the different parts of the Gospel message. Fairgoers of all ages are given the opportunity to receive Christ as their Savior at the fair, and many people’s lives have been impacted by this ministry over the years.
CEF summer missionaries and Christians of all ages have the opportunity to work at the fair ministry, seeing the Lord work mightily.
Will you be a part of what the Lord is doing at the fair? There is a need for workers to volunteer for as many four-hour shifts as possible to tell the Wordless Book, simply invite people walking by to hear the story, or just be an adult presence to supervise. Ask the Lord how you might be part of this great harvest!
